Sharing a Bit of this and a Bit of that!

It's been a busy, creative week.  I love those kind.  I have been scrapping a bit, crocheting a lot and loving every minute of it.  Here are a couple of layouts and projects I scrapped.  I finally got around to making my journal for my Stories in Hand class.  Maybe now I can work on the prompts.  I did this for the Amaco art embossed stickers review.  The metal is colored with my Bic Mark It's.  Love those things. 

Here are a few using the Tinkering Ink Becoming Green Collection.  I love this collection.  Not as heavy weight as the other Tinkering Ink papers, but a good weight.  Great patterns.

And here is my progress on the two crochet projects I am working on.  My purse is about 45% complete.  I have 8 squares done ( it requires 16).  Once I do that, I will still have to piece it together and make the straps and attached.  Still debating about whether to line it.  I really don't know how to do that, but I think it would hold it's shape better if I did.

 

I started a scarf for my older brother.  He says it is snowing  in Ohio and he liked the one I knit for him, so I started a brown one for this winter.  It's a quicky pattern and I should be finished in about a week.

With all this other creativity going on, I forgot all about the sketch this week.  Sorry!  I will try to get one up this week sometime.  If not, I will have a card sketch up here and at Scrapfriends next Sunday.

A Sketch, a Few Layouts, and THE Card Photo

  I have quite a bit to share today.  It is Card Sketch Sunday again at Scrapfriends.  Today's card was inspired by the lovely bows of Jennifer McGuire.  She ties the best bows.  So here is the sketch, enjoy!

I also have a couple of layouts to share.  I reviewed the HUGE collection of sports papers put out  by Flair Designs.  You can check out the whole review here.  In the meantime, here is a close up of my two layouts.  This is the largest collection of sports papers I have ever seen.  They cover almost every sport imaginable, with a few generic sport papers thrown in for good measure.

And (drum roll please), I think I have a card photo.  Still not major satisfied with it.  It is sooooo hard to get both kids to cooperate at the same time.  They take great pleasure in NOT cooperating.  But, I think we can live with this one.  The lighting was not the best.  We had to come home before going down to the beach, so I lost the light before I even got there.  The ones with the wooded backdrop are a little better, lighting wise, but I really like the bay in the background.  So...this is the one I went with.

And another version, with a different, more warm filter run.

Well, that's enough for tonight.  I am still playing around with the look of my blog.  I changed the background color and side bar style and font.  Let me know what you think.  I can already tell that I need to shorten the banner a little if I keep this style.

Sunday Sketch and a Project Share

Good Sunday Evening!  I am a little late with the sketch today.  I seem to have picked up a cold while traveling and can not shake it.  I finally sent DH out for some Puffs plus with lotion for my sore nose.  Hopefully, it will go away in a few day.  Luckily, Tuesday is a holiday, so I only need to work Monday and will get another day to rest up.

Here is the sketch for today. It is a layout sketch, based on a recent layout that I completed.  I used a journaling spot peeking from the bottom of the pictures, but I forgot to sketch it in  when working [blame it on the cold ; ) ].  Anyway, as always, embellish as you choose and make it your own.  Link me up to what ever you decide to create with it.

And, here is my hook case!  I finished the base while traveling.  I came home and added a single crochet around the edges, and then made the Picot Flower using a pattern I found at Ravelry.  I need to post it there, but have to figure out Flickr first.

Sorry for the bad picture.  I asked DD to photography it for me, and she did what teenagers who don't want to be bothered do, half did it.  She is about 1/4 the way finished with this hooked bag.  It is pretty big, but she is making serious progress on it.  I am starting a purse too, that is done is squares first, then stitched together.

Anyway, gotta run.  I can not seem to stop this sneezing.

Sunday Sketch and Video Links

Hi all.  Sorry I am late with the sketches, but we were desperately trying to finish a book report, autobiography and a bunch of other stuff for school tomorrow.  Didn't quite make it, but DS swears that he has more time.  Keeping the fingers crossed.

Here is todays sketch.  It is designed to make use of our sewing machines with zig zag stitches in the middle.  You can use those or leave them out.

S0  many of you asked for the links to the videos that I have been using.  Here is a ling to the single crochet video that I used to start my needle case.  Single Crochet Video  The maker of this video has a number of other ones.  Some that cover more basic things like yarn and needle selection, chain stitches and such as well as others that cover way more advanced things. 

I am happy to report that my needle case is almost done.  I have the body done, but need to run in Hobby Lobby to pick up matching yarn for the crocheted flowers that will decorate it.  I am practicing the double and triple stitches with the flowers.  I will post pictures when I am done.

After Hours stamper video  Again, this person has several other videos where she demonstrates her techniques, but this is the basic one.  I have not had an opportunity to play with this yet, you know all that Mommy homework.  Hopefully, soon though. 

Lastly, have you seen the AP scores.  After scorching in the stadium yesterday, watching the Tide roll over Arkansas State, I was soooo please to catch a glimpse of this on the AP polls.

It has been a long time coming.  So happy to see it now!!!  Roll Tide!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone get to do Digital Scrapbooking Day? We were tailgating on Campus all weekend, so I missed everything.  The campus is wifi, but only students and staff have passwords.  Bummer!  I did manage to snag a few downloads today.  I have a couple of links saved.  Hopefully, I can get them downloaded before the links expire.  I found a cute, boyish mini kit freebie that I really need to download.  Most of my stuff is so girly.

I have a ton of other stuff to share with you, including new layouts, pictures from the game, a few blog awards, and a bunch of other things. So, I will be posting often this week to catch up.

A Sunday Layout and Sketch Share!

Good Afternoon all.  Just thought I would take an opportunity to share a new digi layout and a new sketch.  I have been tied to my computer this weekend.  I went on a download frenzy, and found 3 or 4 new free digital kits to download.  This one is from  Jessica Sprague's site and is called LivEdesigns SSun Fun.  So cute and so versatile.

Here is a sketch that I just did.  I was trying out a concept before I scrap it tomorrow.  Let me know what you think of it.

On another note.  I FOUND A NEW LSS!!!!!  Okay, well it's not actually local, but at least reasonably close.  We drove over yesterday.  I am in love with Glitz papers and Creative Cafe embellies.  Cute stuff.

Did you guys watch college football last night? I spent half my night mediating the football fights between the kids.  One was for Penn State and the other for Ohio State.  Not nice.  BTW, did you all see the Tide?  ROLL TIDE !

It's Sunday Sketch again!

Are you having a great Sunday?  We are.  Sorry to get the sketch up so late, but AP History took precident.  DD needed the laptop to type a major project for AP English.  They are doing a rhetorical analysis of the election, and several major components of the project were due tomorrow.  Have I every told you guys how proud I am or her (and DS).  She did fabulously well this past 9 week period and is well on here way to a fabulous school year.  Here is one of the latest pics of her, taken last month at the local art festival.

And I can't leave the little one out.  He is starting to actually grow up.  He came really, really close to making the A/B honor roll, a feat that has NEVER happened in years past.  He usually struggles the first nine weeks, while he adjusts to getting back in the school groove.  Not this year.   Gotta love it when they start to grow up.  Here is one of him at the LaCrosse clinic.  We are dragging him kicking and screaming, but he actually does at great job at it. He has 3 more clinics and we will decide (the 3 of us) whether he will join the team.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday to you.  This has been a fun, fun weekend.  I spent all day yesterday scrapping with my Scrapping Sistahs.  We got new shirts done, and looked sooo spiffy in them.  I got so excited to be scrapping, I forgot to take a pic!  Ooops!  I will get one next time.  Today I went to the Art festival.  There was some pretty stuff there, but the really big one is in about 3 weeks.  I think I will wait until then to shop.  This one was really small, only took about an hour to get all the way through and stop for a few new pics of DD to scrap.

Anyway, I wanted to post a layout sketch I just made.  While layout sketches won't be a regular thing here, I do on occasion make them, so when I do I will post.  Enjoy!

Last thing,  I have a new tutorial up at Scrapfriends on Creating Digital Textured Cardstock.  It is a simple thing that I stumbled on while sketching.

Card Sketch Sunday!

Guess what today is?  Okay, can't guess.  I'll tell you.  It's card sketch Sunday.  On Sunday's, at least twice a month, I will be posting a card sketch for your enjoyment.  I will be hosting a card sketch challenge at Scrapfriends twice a month.  I will also post the sketch here, but feel free to link your card to our challenge thread at Scrapfriends if you play along.

This card is designed to be a tall card, one that will fit in a standard business envelope.  It was designed to use up things already in our stashes such as flowers and ribbons.  Also, it has a space for a sentiment, but I prefer is with no sentiment.
