Y'all know I love techy stuff and love new toys even more. Well, even though I said that I was going to hold off on until the software was a little more tested (having lived through the fiasco release of silhouette studio V3), I caved and ordered the new Pixscan mat (and did the required update) within a week of it going on sale. Sigh... Luckily, the download has no issues and the mat itself is AWESOME!
Here is a layout I made with my new mat. The travel die cut on the layout was cut using the new pixscan mat. Look how closely it cut that out. I would have for y'all to see how tacky it would have been if I hadn't had the silhouette to cut it for me.
Supplies used: Patterned Paper and cardstock die cut-Authentique; Cardstock-Recollections; Printable-Creating Keepsakes; Cutting Machine, cut file and Pixscan Mat-Silhouette America; Veneer-Studio Calico;Bling-Basic Grey.
I created this layout for a post on Scraps of Color, demonstrating how to use the software and mat to cut out your printables. You can click on the link above to see the tutorial. While there are other ways to do the same thing, this is super easy and pretty quick.
I also made this super cute frame of the Blazey to put in my office for a challenge at Use Your Stuff. This is a silhouette shadowbox cut file, that I cut 2 times, then created a binding to hold the 2 boxes together to make the folding frame.
This was done with supplies from the Echo Park Woof collection and cardstock from Recollections. Cut file for the shadow box and subway art are both from the Slihouette store.
Thanks for stopping by!
Interesting. A Silhouette is on my wish list but I am over-teching right now so I am not increasing my learning curve, LOL. Love what you're doing!
